Wanda Howard

Wanda Howard, 91, of Owensboro, KY passed away peacefully Thursday, November 23, 2017 at Signature Health Care at Hillcrest, a loving and caring facility. She was born December 21, 1925 in Todd County "Clifty", KY to the late Earl R. Hicks Strader and Catherine Welborn Strader. Wanda was a member of Southside Church of Christ in Owensboro. She loved to cook, enjoyed gardening and canning, and she loved the ocean and going to the beach. Wanda was a professional seamstress at Bacon's for over 20 years, retiring at the age of 72. She read her Bible every day and especially loved shopping with her girls. Wanda loved the Lord, her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her son, Michael B. Howard; her sisters, Roma Nell Carver, Lorell Knight, and Hattie Moore; her brothers, Kenneth Ray Strader and Eddie Earl Strader
Survivors include her daughters, Leesa Edge (Steve) of Rockport, IN and Kathy Hays of Owensboro; her grandchildren, Jason Hays (Jennifer) of Tompkinsville, KY, Josh Hays (Whitney) of Tompkinsville, KY, Kela Hays of Owensboro, and Cooper B. Howard of Owensboro; her daughter-in-law, Kim Howard; her great-grandchildren, Paisley, Eli, and Juno; several nieces and nephews
The service will be 12 noon, Monday, November 27, 2017 at Glenn Funeral Home and Cremetory. Rev. Jeff Lankford will officiate. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 1-6PM Sunday and 10AM until service time on Monday at the funeral home. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Signature Health Care at Hillcrest.
