Walter Ford, 86, of Maceo, passed away on Saturday, December 27, 2025, while under the care of Hospice and Palliavtive Care of Western Kentucky. He was born April 7, 1939 in Daviess County to the late Edwin and Ethel Hartman Ford. Walter was a member of Yellow Creek Baptist Church and was the owner of the former George’s Barbeque for 20 years. He also had farmed and worked at W. R. Grace for 17 years. In addition to his parents, Walter was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn in 2019 and his brother Bill Ford and sister-in-law, Anne Ford.
Walter is survived by his son, John Ford and wife Suzanne of Maceo and his daughter, Debbie Gaddis and husband Cary of Owensboro; a step-daughter, Tonya Hinton and husband Brad of Fordsville; grandchildren, Cara Merritt, Alexandra Ford, Michael Gaddis, and Felecia Nugent; great grandchildren, Gabrielle, Presley, Gabriel, Caleb, and Hannah; and a brother, Robert Earl Ford of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be 1 PM Friday January 2, at Yellow Creek Baptist Church with burial following in Yellow Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 AM until the time of the service Friday at Yellow Creek Baptist Church.
