Wallace Magan

Wallace Coleman Magan, 87, of Owensboro, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2017, at his home. He was born May 4, 1930, in Daviess Co., to the late Charles and Mary Bell Magan. Wallace was a graduate of Daviess Co. High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and received the Purple Heart. He graduated from Bowling Green College of Commerce (now Western Kentucky University) and spent his entire working career as an accountant for Texas Gas Transmission Corp. in Owensboro until his retirement in 1985. He had a very dry sense of humor, loved to fish and be outdoors, and had a heart as soft as butter. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years Rosemary Magan in 2016 and by his sister Anna Rose Coleman.

Surviving are three daughters, Melinda Ann Strehl and husband Rick of Louisville, Barbara Jean Lemmons of Louisville, and Mary Lynn Freels and husband Tim of Owensboro; two brothers, Brady (Dorothy) Magan and Larry (Charlene) Magan; three grandchildren, Andrew Freels and Lauren Freels, both of Owensboro, and Jeremiah Lemmons of Louisville; two great-grandchildren, Elizabeth and Nolan Clary, both of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Private services will be held. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory has been entrusted with the arrangements.
