Wallace Howard, 83, passed away Friday, May 5, 2017 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Born in Whitesville on August 9, 1933, he was the son of the late Patrick and Xaveria Coomes Howard. He attended Brescia University, was an Air Force veteran and retired from Southwire-Ky. Division in Hawesville.
Wallace enjoyed gardening and oil painting. He performed many acts of charity during his life but he did not seek recognition and preferred to labor anonymously. He was a devoted man of faith and longtime member of St. Anthony Catholic Church.
Wallace was preceded in death by his sisters, Jean Thompson and Dolores Lanham.
He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Marjorie Chissom Howard; daughters, Jeanna Howard of Owensboro, and Denise Howard OD and her husband Jim Bohrer of Bloomington IN.
Wallace is also survived by his brothers, Doug Howard of Louisville, Roy Howard of Springfield IL., Carroll Howard MD of Owensboro, Millard Howard DDS of Tallahassee FL; and several nieces and nephews.
The funeral mass for Wallace will be 10 am, Monday, May 8, 2017 at St. Anthony Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Anthony Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday from 4 until 6 pm with prayers at 6 pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and at the church on Monday from 9 am until time of service.
