Walfred James Sandberg

Walfred James "Wally" Sandberg, 75, of 618 Manchester Loop, Owensboro, died Wednesday, January 12, 2005 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Pontiac Michigan to the late Herbert and Lillian Lawrence Sandberg. Mr. Sandberg was a retired machinist for General Motors Corporation. He was a veteran of the Air Force, and a member of St. Andrews Presbyterian Church in Owensboro. He was an avid golfer, listened to classical music, and was active in Habitat for Humanity. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Sandberg.
Mr Sandberg is survived by his wife, Jacinta Tichenor Garinger Sandberg of Owensboro, a son, James Donald Sandberg of Reno, Nevada, a sister, Mary Lou Powers of Southfield, Michigan, a niece, Diane Carman of Russiaville, Indiana, sisters and brothers in law, Bill and Irene Tichenor, and Jo Evelyn Tichenor,all of Owensboro, and Betty Englert Tichenor of Calhoun, several other nieces and nephews, and two great nephews.
Memorial services will be held , Sunday, January 16, 2004 at 5:00 p.m. with Rev. Brian Roby and Rev. James Martin officiating. Visitation will be from 3 to 5 p.m. Sunday. Burial will at a later date in Ottowa Park Cemetery in Clarkston, Michigan. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the American Cancer Society.
