W. C. Simmons
William Curtis Simmons, 97, of Owensboro, passed away on Sunday, November 2, 2014 at the Carmel Home. He was born June 7, 1917 in Daviess Co., to the late Roy and Catherine Boling Simmons. He was a longtime farmer in the West Louisville community and a member of Immaculate Catholic Church. He loved his family very much and enjoyed spending time with them. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine Mulligan Simmons June 27, 2002, a son-in-law, Ronald Schroeder, granddaughter, Julie Simmons, a brother, Houston Simmons, and sisters, Virginia Batman, Aileen Abel, Lucille Clark, Kathleen Tarter, Rosita Blandford, and Marie Ambrose Nunnally.
Survivors include six sons, William H. Simmons and wife Wandalee of Sebastian, FL and Owensboro, Charles R. Simmons and wife Ann of Waynesville, N.C., Anthony C. Simmons and wife Shirley of Harvest, AL, Stephen B. Simmons and wife Alice of West Louisville, Ronald C. Simmons of Owensboro, and John D. Simmons and wife Teresa of Madison, AL, two daughters, Marilyn S. Schroeder of Avon Lake, OH and Harriet J. Simmons of Owensboro, 18 grandchildren, 22 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild.
Services will be 11:00 A.M. Wednesday, November 5, at the Carmel Home Chapel. Burial will follow in St. Alphonsus Cemetery in Daviess Co. Visitation will begin at 9:00 A.M. Wednesday at the Carmel Home. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory are in charge of arrangements.
