W. H. "Mac" McCrady, 73, of Philpot passed away Thursday, October 1, 2009 at his home. Born July 10, 1936 in Daviess County, he was the son of the late Elbert and Lela Madison McCrady; worked at the American Cigar Company for 11 years and retired from Bar-Met Aluminum, Indiana after 15 years where he was a General Superintendent; was a member of the First United Baptist Church , the Ensor Masonic Lodge #729, the Eastern Star, and the Lion's Club; and was a Navy veteran. "Mac" was the consummate musician, host, and MC and played music in the Owensboro area for over 60 years with "The Country Tones" and "The Evolutions" which included his wife, Loretta and children, Jeff and Kim. He was preceded in death by his wife, Loretta A. McCrady; and brothers, Earl McCrady, Charles McCrady, Clyde McCrady, and Herbert McCrady.

He is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Jeff and Christina McCrady of Philpot; a daughter, Kim McCrady of Princeton, IN; grandchildren, Joshua McCrady, and Amy, Katie, Patrick and Steven; a sister, Edna Purcell of Owensboro; and several nieces and nephews.

Services are 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 6, 2009 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Rex Hill officiating followed by entombment at Owensboro Memorial Gardens where military honors will be rendered by VFW Post 696. Visitation will be from 12 to 8 p.m. Monday and after 11 a.m.on Tuesday at the funeral home where a Masonic Service will be held at 6:30 p.m. on Monday.
