W. Keith Hoak, 87, of Owensboro, died Wednesday, December 31, 2008, at Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born March 12, 1921 to the late Wallace H. and Jessie Baird Hoak in McKeesport, PA, He was a member of Heritage Baptist Church and an Army Veteran of WW II. He enjoyed teaching and practicing fencing, coin collecting, studying history, and reading historical novels.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years, Doris "Dot" Adgate Hoak; his sons, C. Keith Hoak and his wife, Juanita of Plano, TX, Tim Hoak and his wife, Camilla of Owensboro, and Bob Hoak and his wife, Bobbi Jo of Westerville, OH; five grandchildren, Benjamin, Aaron, and Jonathan Hoak, Michelle Heidrich, and Melissa Crum; seven great-grandchildren.
Services will be 10:30 AM Saturday, at Heritage Baptist Church, with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens, with Military Honors given by VFW Post 696. Visitation will be 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, at Glenn Funeral Home, and after 9:30 AM Saturday, at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to the Heritage Christian School Bldg. Fund, 3585 Thruston-Dermont Road, Owensboro, KY 42303.
