Vyerl Jean Baughn

Vyerl Jean Bassett Baughn, 79, of Utica, passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2016 at her home. She was born in Evansville, Indiana to the late Charles Bassett and Stella Kinney Scott.
Vyerl was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother who attended Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. She had a passion for animals, especially hummingbirds and cats.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Baughn was preceded in death by her step-father, Haynes Scott; her sister, Rachael Scott Dame and a brother, Pastor William "Bill" Scott.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Albert A. Baughn; sons, Frank A. Baughn and Michael A. Baughn and his wife, Melody, both of Calhoun; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; a brother, William "Jack" Bassett and his wife, Ruth; a sister-in-law, Joyce Scott; and several nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held at 2 PM, Saturday, April 16 at Calhoun Cemetery in Calhoun, Kentucky.
Memorial contributions may be made to Owensboro Humane Society 3101 West Second Street Owensboro, KY 42301.
