Vivian Jean Reed Fischer

February 6, 1933 — March 8, 2017

Vivian Jean Reed Fischer, 84, of Rome, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017 at her home surrounded by all her family. She was born February 6, 1933 in Daviess Co. to the late Clarence and Dora Terry Reed. She graduated from St. Francis Academy in 1951, was a devoted Catholic and member of St. Martin Catholic Church where she was an active member of the Parish Altar Society until her health prevented her participation. Vivian was a homemaker, but had worked at General Electric, Tilford's Toy Store, Woolsey's Toy Store, and at Bacon's as a seamstress. She was a 4-H leader for years and a judge at the County Fair. Vivian was an avid crafter who loved to create decorations for every holiday, especially Christmas. She enjoyed being in the kitchen cooking and baking for her family, watching U.K. basketball, and working puzzles. Geneology was a passion of Vivians. She traced the Terry, Reed, and Fischer family trees back to the mid 1800's. Vivian was a very loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Wilma Reed Payne and brothers Roy "Bub" Reed and Edward Reed.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Donald, daughter Lee Ann Schrecker and husband George of Owensboro, sons Tony Fischer and wife Theresa and Joe Fischer and wife Marcie, all of Owensboro, grandchildren, Erin (James) Conkright, Bridgett Schrecker, Jacob, Nicholas, and Michael Fischer, great granddaughters, Charlotte and Amelia Conkright, and numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews.
