Virginia May Vittitow Snyder, 82, of The Carmel Home, died there Monday, September 12, 2005. A daughter of the late James Anthony and Leah Ethel Galloway Vittitow, she was a member of Third Baptist Church and the Esther Sunday school class. Mrs. Snyder organized the Protestant religious services at The Carmel Home for many years, was a devoted fan of the University of Kentucky, and had served as a Brownie leader. Her husband, George Snyder, preceded her in death in 1994.
Survivors include her daughter, Gail Reynolds and her husband Lawrence Cary Reynolds of Owensboro; her granddaughters, Ashley Gail Lile and her husband Max of Santa Monica, CA, and Lesley Anne Reynolds of Louisville; and several nieces and nephews, including Diane Vittitow Stuckert of Louisville, and Susan Vittitow Mayes, Nancy Carpenter Calhoun, William J. Carpenter, Robert Vittitow, and Thomas Vittitow, all of Owensboro.
Services, officiated by the Rev. James Byrd and the Rev. Dr. Glenn Sowards, are at 11:30 A.M. Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday and after 10:30 Wednesday. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
