Virginia Jane White Murray, 85, of Owensboro passed away Thursday, December 9, 2010 at the Newburgh Health Care Center. Born in Daviess County on December 19, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Fred and Sue McQuady White; was the former owner operator of the Little Red Hen Dress Shop in Owensboro; and was a member of First Baptist Church. Mrs. Murray was an avid reader and loved spending time with her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Lee Murray in 1997 and a sister, Ida M. Horton.
Surviving are children, James (Deloris) Williams and Jerry Williams of Owensboro, and Jacqueline Williams and Kathy Hunt of Newburgh, IN; grandchildren, Kelly Williams of Nashville, Kristy (Mike) Bean of Owensboro, Jami (Eric) Morris of Hawesville, Melissa (David) Mills of Whitesville, and Sam (Heather) Williams of Owensboro; nine great-grandchildren; and a sister, Judy Bazemore of Owensboro.
Services are 12 noon Monday, December 13, 2010 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Ferrell Isenberg officiating followed by entombment in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be after 10 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home.
