Virginia Barnett Bruner Mayton

Virginia Bruner Mayton passed away at the age of 93 on Thursday, October 16, 2008 at Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. She was born in Reddy, Kentucky, a community in Grayson County, to the late Mac R. and Eva Bell Richardson Skaggs. After moving to Owensboro, she worked at Ken-Rad and The Rudd Hotel and was a member of Hall Street Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her first husband and father of her children, Leo T. Bruner, in 1950 and her second husband, Leroy Mayton, in 1983, as well as three sons, Robert L. Bruner, Jimmy Bruner, and Marshall Bruner.

She is survived by her sons, Leslie Bruner and his wife Rita, and Sherman Bruner, all of Owensboro; her grandchildren, Steve Bruner, Robert Bruner, Elizabeth Ann Bess, Jerry Bruner, Jeff Bruner, and Marshall Bruner, Jr.; and several great-grandchildren.

Services are 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Glenn Funeral Home, where visitation will be from 4:00 until 7:00 p.m. Friday and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday. Burial will be in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
