Virginia Mae Montgomery Manion

Virginia Mae Montgomery Manion, 92, of Owensboro passed away Friday, November 30, 2012 at the Four Courts Nursing Home in Louisville. Born in Daviess County on September 6, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Hillary and Emma Roby Manion; was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church; and was had worked for 20 years at Brescia University. She was also a member of the Daughter's of Isabella and the Porch Sitting Club of Louisville. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Manion, Jr. and a son, Charles Manion III.

Surviving are her children, Bob (Dyann) Manion and Pat (Robert) Fowler of Owensboro, Judy Thornberry of Louisville, and Mary Kay (Dave) Ledsma of Salinas, CA; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 6 great-great-grandchildren; a brother, John (Barbara) Montgomery of Owensboro; and sisters, Theresa (Hugh) Higdon of Owensboro, and Sr. Dorothea Montgomery and Sr. Marie Montgomery of Maple Mount, KY.

Services are 12 noon Wednesday, December 5, 2012 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Brad Whistle officiating followed by burial in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday and after 9 a.m. on Wednesday. Prayers will be at 6 p.m. on Tuesday evening at the funeral home.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
