Virginia Ruth Jones, of Owensboro, passed away April 30, 2018 at home. She was born in Idaville, IN May 8, 1937 to the late Eathel and Hilda Andrews Owens. Virginia worked as a telephone operator and then at T.R.W. for many years until her retirement. She loved reading her Bible and was a faithful and loving wife, mother and grandmother. She enjoyed singing, playing the piano, and being a member of The Pentecostals of Owensboro. She also loved her family and people in general. Virginia was a pastor's wife for 30 years and enjoyed entertaining people and was a very hospitable person. During her time on earth and her marriage, she and her husband and their family spent time living in different places such as Indiana, South Dakota, Nebraska and most recently, Kentucky. Virginia was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Bob Garriott.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Jones; son, Eathel "E.J." Jones and grandpuppy, Tag, Perrin Jones, his former wife, Rianna Jones and their children, Christian Jones (Zhing), Jordan Jones, Kyra Jones, Jaylee Jones; daughter, Alondra Hanger and her husband John and their children, Brianna Adler (Mathew), Chanelle Hanger, Bethany Hanger, Carlee Hanger, Quillan Hanger; two honorary grandchildren, Felecite Kopp and Joshua Wilson; siblings, George Owens (Pam), Carol Garriott, Roger Owens (Judy) and Marilynn Weihermiller, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday at The Pentecostals of Owensboro with Rev. Bill Huff officiating. Visitation will be 4:00 p.m. -7:00 p.m. Wednesday and after 9:00 a.m. Thursday all at church. The burial will take place 2:00 p.m. Friday at Yoeman Cemetery in Monticello, IN. Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory have been entrusted with the arrangements.
