Virginia Lois Hamlet

Mrs. Virginia Lois Ginny Hamlet, 72, of 3961 Locust Hill Drive, Owensboro, died Wednesday, February 18, 2004 at Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born August 2, 1931, to the late Courtland and Floris Rice Powers in Daviess County. She retired from General Electric, and was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church. She enjoyed bowling, flower gardening, growing vegetables, fishing and camping.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, Bobby Arnold, who died January 6, 1998.

Survivors include her husband of five years, Jim Hamlet; one son and his wife, Rick and JoAnn Sosh of Santee, CA; one step-daughter, Judy Arnold Wilson of Calhoun; two step-sons, Jim Hamlet, Jr. of Elizabethtown, and Ray Hamlet of Chillicothe, OH; two grandchildren, Ryan and Jeremy Sosh; three step-grandchildren, John, Thomas, and Renetta Keplinger, and eight step-great-grandchildren.

Services will be 10:00 AM Monday, February 23, 2004 at Glenn Funeral Home, with burial in Popular Grove Cemetery in McLean County. Visitation will be 1:00 until 6:00 PM Sunday, and after 9:00 AM Monday at the funeral home.
