Virginia Alice Connell

Virginia Alice Nickel Connell, 78, of 8175 Old Highway 54, Philpot, KY died Thursday, November 20, 2003 at her home. A native of Milan, MI, she spent most of her life in Ann Arbor area where she had been a beautician and retired as executive secretary to the Jury Board of Watenaw County, Michigan. She enjoyed traveling and ventured alone to Egypt and Hawaii. Her husband, John Connell in 1999 and a grandson, Robert Nicks in 1977, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Tamara Nicks of Lamesa, TX, her son, Thomas Nickell of Edmore, Michigan, a brother, William Verran n of Findlay, Ohio; 5 grandchildren, Tamara Wilder, Michele Hunter, Wendy Cornett, Joseph Nicks. And Teresa Byars; and 14 great-grandchildren, Breanna Kandler, Bradley Wilder, Jeffery Hunter, Mitchell Hunter, Heidi Cornett, Jacob Cornett, Isaac Cornett, Emily Nicks, Riley Nicks, Joshua Byars, Kylie Byars, Garett Byars, Devyn Byars, and Drew Byars.

Services are at 3 p.m. Sunday at Glenn Funeral Home where visitation will be after 1 p.m. Sunday. Burial will be in Turkey Creek First Baptist Church Cemetery in Plant City, Florida.
