Virginia M. Gossman Brantley, 83, of Owensboro, passed away on Thursday, November 21, 2013 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. She was born on June 8, 1930 in Evansville, IN to the late Victor and Cecilia Nurrenbern Gossman. She was a homemaker and a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She was an avid U. K. basketball and St. Louis Cardinals baseball fan. Most of all, Virginia loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren and really enjoyed watching them participate in sports. She was preceded in death by her husband, Douglas L. Brantley on December 29, 1999 and a brother, Nick Gossman.
Surviving are her sons, Ron and wife Peggy Brantley and Mike and wife Lisa Brantley, all of Owensboro, her daughter, Judie Parr of Birmingham, AL, seven grandchildren, Jennifer Piercy of North Carolina, Renae McCullough of Michigan, Lance Parr of Tennessee, Micki (Scott) Howard of Philpot, Megan Brantley of Alabama, and Jonathan and Briston Brantley, both of Owensboro, two step granddaughters, Laura Hagan of Owensboro and Katie Hagan of Lexington, nine great grandchildren, two brothers, Sylvester Gossman and Harold Gossman, both of Evansville, and two sisters, Juanita Byers of Evansville and Doris Magee of Clinton, IN.
Services will be 10:00 A.M. Monday, November 25, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 2:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday and from 8:30-9:30m A.M. Monday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Prayers will be 5:00 P.M. Sunday at the funeral home.
