Virgil C. Shepard age 82 passed away February 25, 2015 at his residence in Owensboro. Virgil was born on January 19, 1933 to Robert Cecil and Susie (Clark) Shepard in Germantown, OH. Virgil was married for 58 years to Frieda S. (Huth) Shepard.

Mr. Shepard graduated from Arcanum High School, in Arcanum, OH. He received Bachelor's from Defiance College in 1955, and from Ohio Northern University and an MBA& M. Ed from Bowling Green State University. He was an English Teacher at Bryan City Schools & Paulding City Schools, and a professor of business at Lake Superior State College, Prairie View A&M, St. Mary's University in Texas, Langston State University, West Virginia Tech and numerous military bases around the world. Mr. Shepard was a devoted Democrat and his hobbies include collecting land, gardening, feeding his dog "Shasta", traveling, story-telling and caring for his grandkids.

He is survived by his wife: Frieda Shepard, daughter: Sue (Perry) Warren of Owensboro, granddaughters: Samantha (James) Boles of Lexington, Savannah Warren of Owensboro, and grandson Zachary Warren of Owensboro.

Visitation for Mr. Shepard will be Sunday from 2p-6p, and from 11am Monday with Funeral Services on Monday at 12pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with the Rev. Jane Rothman officiating.

Memorial Donations can be made to Hospice of Western Ky, Daviess County Animal Shelter, or Faith Lutheran Church of Owensboro. Condolences can be made to glennfuneralhome.com
