Virgie Bell Shouse Stinnett

March 16, 1914 — March 1, 2005

Virgie Bell Stinnett, 90, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, March 1, 2005 at the Owensboro Medical Health System. Born March 16, 1914 in Daviess County, Mrs. Stinnett was the daughter of the late Ira Shouse and Maude Foster Shouse. She retired from the Wendell Foster Center and was a member of the Peoples Baptist Church. She enjoyed fishing. Mrs. Stinnett was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Ruth Ann Ellis; two brothers, Wilbur Shouse and Herbert Shouse; and two sisters, Sarah Burden and Bessie Wilson.

She is survived by her husband of 51 years, James JR Stinnett; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Ruth and Bobby Ellis and Ann and David Melton all of Owensboro; seven grandchildren, Karen Diane Clark, Mary Margaret Burns, Roger Allen Ellis and Rodney Neil Ellis all of Owensboro, Joseph Neal Burns of Bartow, FL, Thomas Lloyd Ellis of Tyler, TX, and Debra Joyce West of Marion, IL; 24 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services are 2:30 P.M. Friday, March 4, 2005 at the Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be at the funeral home from 2-8 P.M. on Thursday and after 10 A.M. on Friday.
