Virgie Mae Sheaffer

October 17, 1919 — November 15, 2005

Virgie Sheaffer, 86, of Owensboro, died Tuesday, November 15, 2005, at Hillcrest Healthcare Center. She was born October 17, 1919 to the late Charlie and Cordie Roberts in Hancock County. She worked in child care, was a member of Dawson Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday School and she enjoyed quilting and cooking.

She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Shawna Galloway in 1998 and a great-granddaughter, Diamond Galloway in 1994.

Survivors include her husband of 58 years, Eugene Sheaffer. Daughters, Jenette Manno and her husband, Peter of Little Rock, AR, Linda Anderson and her husband, James and Debra Myatt and her husband, Roger, all of Owensboro; grandchildren, Stephanie Manno, Tim Galloway and Renona McCubbins; great-grandchildren, Teara Galloway, Erica, Darien and Dustin McCubbins.

Services will be 2:30 PM Friday, at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 3:00 until 7:00 PM Thursday and after 10:00 AM on Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, 333 Guthrie St. Ste 207, Louisville, KY, 40202.
