Virgie Lee Coomes

Virgie L. Coomes, age 89, of Owensboro passed away on Saturday, September 15, 2012. She was born on December 18, 1922 in Owensboro Kentucky.

Virgie focused on loving the Lord and her family throughout her life. She was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church in Owensboro. She provided for her family by working at General Electric. Later in her life she enjoyed spending time with her two sons and grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her loving mother, Nanny Snyder, and two siblings; George Snyder and Lorena Brown.

She is survived by two sons; Tommy Coomes and wife Lewan of Cleveland, TN and Bruce Coomes of Owensboro, seven grandchildren; Jeremy Coomes and wife Christie, Caleb Coomes, Arina Coomes, Danaly Coomes, Alea Coomes, Beverly Snyder and Lisa Snyder.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, September 18 at 12:00PM in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with interment to follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be held from 10:00AM to 12:00PM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
