Vincent J. Morgan

Vincent J. "Grandpa" Morgan, 82 of Owensboro passed away Tuesday, June 15, 2010 at the Owensboro Medical Health System with his family by his side. Born December 1, 1927 in Hancock County, he was the son of the late Eugene and Clara Belle Morrison Morgan; was retired from Green River Steel where he worked for 32 years; and was a member of the West Point Baptist Church. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching ball games, and betting of the horses. Mr. Morgan was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Lucy Mae Morgan in 2007, a brother, Hershel Morgan, and sisters, Virginia Louviere and Emogene Jackson.

Surviving are his son, Charles "Red" (Mary) Morgan; a daughter, Larain (Jim) Ashby; grandchildren, Lisa (Skip) Baird, Sherri (Chris) Gilbert, Tonia (John) Goodman, Jila Ashby, and Venus (Philip) Cornette; nine great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Services are 10 a.m. Friday, June 18, 2010 in the Chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. George Barker officiating followed by burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Thursday and after 9 a.m. on Friday.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to Hospice of Western Kentucky.
