Victoria Elizabeth Rickard, 85 of Owensboro went home to be with the Lord, Friday, July 9, 2010. She was born in Daviess County on April 11, 1925 to the late Orvin "Bron" and Eura (Pinkston) Ashton. She had worked at General Electric, Medley Distillery, Woolco, and retired from The Athenian Health Spa in 1997 where she was in charge of the nursery and known to all as "Miss Vicky". She was a member of Good Shepherd Church, loved spending time with her family, traveling, listening to Gospel music, reading her Bible, doing word search puzzles and buying gadgets.
Two brothers, Leland and Delbert Ashton also preceded her in death.
Surviving are her husband of 61 years, Estell "E.T." Rickard, two daughters, Belinda (Kim) Logsdon of Owensboro, Karen (Richard) Yeckering of Utica, and a son, Tim (Julie DeArmond) Rickard of Greensboro, N.C., four grandchildren, Angela Greenwell of Evansville, I.N., Chandra (Steve) Ray of Owensboro, and Emma and Sophie Rickard of Greensboro, N.C., two great grandchildren, Dallas Osborne and Brody Greenwell of Evansville, and three step-great grandchildren, Ella, Lily, and Gage Logsdon of Owensboro, two brothers, James and Sherman Ashton of Detroit, M.I. and a sister, Christine Kimbley of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Louis Nall officiating. Burial will follow in Calhoun Cemetery. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Monday, and after 9 a.m. Tuesday.
