Victor Lee Richey, 86, of Owensboro, died on January 8, 2015. He was born in Barren County to the late William Ray and Hazel Goode Richey. Victor was a Supervisor for the Army Reserves from which he retired as a Chief Warrant Officer. He also served in the Army during World War II and the Korean War. Victor was a member at Owensboro Church of Christ. He was also a former elder, deacon and educational director at the church.
Victor was preceded in death by his brothers; William James Richey and Robert C. Richey.
Survivors include his wife, Melba Jean Richey; daughters, Patricia Faye Richey of Owensboro, Paula Rhea Sapp (Louis) of Pleasant Ridge, and Marilyn Miller (Steve) of Jasper; son Victor Lee Richey Jr. (Suzy) of St. Louis; sister, Nelda Hughes; grandchildren, Patrick Sapp (Casy) of Bowling Green, Tamara Sapp (Jonathan Piercy) of Hazard, and David Miller of Jasper; and great-grandchild, Samantha Sapp of Bowling Green.
Services will be 10 am Monday, January 12, 2015, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1 pm until 5 pm on Sunday and from 8:30 am until time of service on Monday.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to The Church of Christ Building Fund or The Wounded Warrior Project.
