Victor M. Evans

Victor M. Evans, Sr., 52, of 2941 Greenhill Drive, Owensboro, died, Sunday July 22, 2001 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born in Daviess County, Kentucky on September 17, 1948 the son of Jordan H. and Mary Barrett Evans.

He retired from sales department at Frito-Lay after 20 years and was a member of Blessed Mother Catholic Church. He graduated from Brescia College in 1974, coached baseball at Southern Little League for 17 years and coached the 2000 10 year Old State Champions and 2001 District 10 year old champs. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 30 years, Margaret Kula Evans; three sons, Victor M. Evans, Jr., Andy Evans and Nicholas Evans, all of Owensboro; four grandchildren; his father, Jordan H. Evans of Philpot; a brother, Melvyn Evans of Jasper, IN; and four sisters, Janice Pike, Donna McKinley, Majella Mills and Mary Boarman, all of Whitesville.

Services are at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday July 25, 2001 at Blessed Mother Catholic Church, officiated by Father Eric Riley. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery. His family will receive friends at Glenn Funeral Home from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday July 24, 2001 and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday. Prayers will be said at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
