Vic Estes

Victor A. Estes, 60, of 2948 Legion Park Dr., Owensboro, passed away on Friday, January 30, 2009 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born Dec. 16, 1948 in Norman, OK. He was retired after 30 years with Sheetmetal Workers Union Local #20 as a sheetmetal journeyman. He played golf and was an avid bowler, having bowled in local leagues for over 35 years. He was a sports enthusiast with team favorites: Denver Broncos football, U.K. basketball, and Los Angeles Dodgers baseball. He loved to cook and raise flowers and vegetables. He most loved spending time with his family especially his grandson, Hayden. He was preceded in death by his mother, Mary Estes, sister, Rockie Estes, father-in-law, Filmore Aubrey, and grandmother, Eva Ashby.

Surviving are his wife of 37 years, Tencie Estes, son, Nick Estes of Owensboro, daughter, Erica Hunt and husband Bill of Newburgh, IN, grandson, Hayden Hunt, mother-in-law, Eartha Aubrey of Owensboro, three sisters-in-law, Jean Drewry and husband Ray, Marilyn Matlock and husband David, and Darlene Conder and husband Steve, and a brother-in-law, Byron Aubrey and wife Gale, all of Owensboro.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Monday, February 2, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 1:00-6:00 P.M. Sunday and after 9:00 A.M. Monday at the funeral home.
