Vickey Jean Courtney Payne

Vickey Jean Courtney Payne, 67, of Maceo, passed on Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at her home. She was born on November 2, 1958, in Kenton County, KY, to James and Kathleen James Courtney.

Vickey earned her associates degree from Midway College and was retired from the Human Resource Department at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital after 40+ dedicated years of service. She was also a regular member of GracePointe Baptist Church here in Owensboro.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Kathleen Courtney; and a sister, Kathy Courtney.

Vickey is survived by her husband of 27 years, Louis Payne; children, Leah (Nick) Payne Bush, and Eric Payne; her father, James Courtney; grandchildren, Stella and James Payne, and Scarlett and Addalynn Bush; and her siblings, Margie Courtney Autry, James “Jimbo” Courtney, and Mike Courtney.

There will be a memorial gathering of family and friends for Vickey at 2 p.m. on Saturday May 30, 2026, at GracePointe Baptist Church 2339 W. Parrish Avenue, Owensboro, KY 42301.
