Veronica Hicks

Veronica "Bonnie" Hicks, 82, of Owensboro, died Wednesday, May 28, 2008, at the Owensboro Medical Health System. She was born July 9, 1925, to the late Paul and Theresa Barrett Burch in Daviess County. She retired from Owensboro Daviess County Hospital after 14 years. She was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church, and enjoyed taking pictures, sewing, cooking and being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, George Allen Hicks, Sr. on September 26, 2007, and four brothers, Ray, Frankie, Clifton, and Leo Burch.

Survivors include her children; George A. Hicks, Jr. of Owensboro, Joseph L. Hicks and his wife, Becky of Stockton, MO, Franklin D. Hicks and his wife, Peggy of Owensboro, Thurman Lee Hicks and his wife, Monica of Carmel, IN, Judith S. Payne and her husband, Bill of Owensboro, Georgetta F. Holder of Owensboro, Donna J. Pierson and husband, Paul of Louisville, Rose B. Frakes and her husband, Bobby of Glenville; 21 grandchildren, 39 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; three brothers, Hugh Burch of Merrillville, IN, Tony Burch of Whitesville, Chub Burch of Lake Station, IN, four sisters, Ann Roney of Lexington, Loretta Keller of Whitesville, Thelma Richards of Hardinsburg, Emma Parker of Lexington.

Services will be 9:00 AM Saturday at Immaculate Catholic Church with burial in St. Alphonsus Cemetery. Visitation will be 2:00 until 8:00 PM Friday, with prayers at 7:30 PM at Glenn Funeral Home.
