Vernon Clyde "Shorty" Reeves

Vernon Clyde "Shorty "Reeves, 85, passed away Thursday March 23, 2017 at Signature Healthcare in Hartford, Kentucky. He was born in Daviess County to the late Albert Cliffton and Mattie L. Shader Reeves. Vernon grew up in Rumsey and worked on a farm before serving in the United States Army for 3 years then he worked in Owensboro at a tobacco warehouse for several years before he became disabled. He also liked to visit downtown Owensboro and meet new people. Vernon was a resident at Knottsville Soennecker rest home for 5 years before moving to Signature Healthcare in Hartford.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, March 30, 2017 in the chapel of Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Father Mark Buckner officiating. Burial will follow at Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will begin at 8:30 a.m. on Thursday.
