Vernia Mae Worth Buford

Vernia Mae Vern Worth Buford, 89, of 279 Redbud Road, Owensboro passed away on Friday, March 2, 2007 at Harborside Healthcare. She was born on June 13, 1917 in Daviess Co., Ky. to the late Charles & Izola Lambert Worth. She retired from General Electric Co. with 27 years of service and was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, bowling, cooking, canning, and flowers. She was preceded in death by her husband, J. W. Buford on July 8, 1993, a granddaughter, Tonya Byers on April 20, 1988, and four brothers, Thoedore, Leslie, J. B., and Harris Worth.

She is survived by a son and his wife, John C. & Sue Buford of Madison, Wi., a daughter, Helen Byers of Owensboro, four grandchildren, Kim Buford of Madison, Wi., Jason Buford of Portland Or., Jim Byers and his fiancElizabeth Thompson of Louisville, and Sonya Young and her husband Brian of Owensboro, two great granddaughters, Jennifer Logston of Louisville and Karisa Young of Owensboro, a great great granddaughter, Kaili Logston, and several nieces & nephews.

Services will be 11:00 A.M. Tuesday, March 6, at St. Pius X Catholic Church. Entombment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 4:00-8:00 P.M. Monday and after 9:00 A.M. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home. Prayers will be 5:00 P.M. Monday at the funeral home.
