Vera Wade Powell

Vera Wade Powell, 96 of Owensboro, died Tuesday, March 19, 2013 at Kindred Nursing Care. Vera was born in McHenry, Kentucky to the late Phocian and Mollie (Chapman) Wade and was retired from General Electric. She was a member of Buena Vista Baptist Church. Vera loved flowers and UK basketball, and had played basketball on the Kenrad team.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Stella Faith, Era Case, Frankie Wade, Leonard Wade and her husband, Earl Powell.
Several nieces and nephews survive.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Saturday, March 23, 2013 at Glenn Funeral Home and crematory with entombment following in Resurrection Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 pm. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Susan G.
