Vera C. Kitchens

Vera Kitchens, 91, of Owensboro, died Monday, January 9, 2013 at her home. She was born in Ohio County to the late Custer H. and Florence (Nelson) Haven. Vera was a homemaker and loved her family , working in her yard and going to church. She was a member of Owensboro First United Baptist Church. Her husband, Robert Luke Kitchens preceded her in death in 1980, a daughter Shirley Nash in 2005 , a son-in-law George Barnett in 2002 and three grandchildren.

Surviving is a son, Robert "Tom" Kitchens and Diane Barnett , both of Owensboro, 7 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 11 ,2013 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Bruce Fleanor officiating. Burial will be in Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be after 9:30 a.m. Friday until services. Online condolences may be left at www.glennfuneralhome.com.
