Venus Kershandra Thompson

Venus Kershandra Thompson, 27, of Hale Avenue, Owensboro, died Friday, June 29, 2012 at University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. Venus was a caring and loving girl who always had a smile on her face. She was a member of Pleasant Memorial Baptist Church, and a 2004 graduate of Owensboro High School. Her father, Nathaniel Corbett Thompson, and grandparents, Nathaniel Eulos Thompson, Marjorie L. Hawkins, E.Joyce and William L. Mattiford preceded her in death. Surviving is her mother, Allena ''Lena'' Mattiford of Owensboro, sisters, Victorial Thompson of Owensboro, and Natalie Thompson of Phoenix, AZ., brothers, Ramone Thompson of Indianapolis, IN., and Juan Thompson of Ft. Lauderdale, FL., her grandmother, Bernice Thompson, an aunt, Jean Coleman , uncle, William Mattiford , both of Owensboro.
Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, July 5, 2012 at Fourth Street Baptist Church with Bro. Denny Campbell officiating. Visitation will be at the church after 11:00 a.m. Thursday. Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
