Velma Lee Garrett

Velma Lee Garrett, 79, of Owensboro, died Thursday, October 16, 2008, at her home. She was born January 10, 1929, to the late Hal and Pearl Grah Barger in Chester, IL. She was a member of the First Christian Church and enjoyed playing golf, dancing and traveling with her husband, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Robin Dale Garrett, and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Leo and Rachel Garrett.

Survivors include her husband of 60 years, Robert Dale Garrett; her daughters, Brenda Lee Hern and her husband, Larry of Owensboro, and Bonnie Ree Kish and her husband, Ken of Nashville, TN; four grandchildren, Dana Lee Hern, Tara Lynn Hern, Ashley Elizabeth Kish and Kenneth Steven Kish, Jr.

Services and visitation will be private, with entombment in Evergreen Cemetery in Chester, IL. Glenn Funeral Home is in charge of services.
