Vaughn Ray Plummer, PhD, 62, of Owensboro, passed away August 12, 2016 while in the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Born January 10, 1954 in Owensboro, to Virgil Ray and Betty Lou Plummer, Vaughn was a dedicated man making a good life for him and his family. He was a successful man earning his PhD in Safety Engineering. He also earned a MA in Business Administration and BS in Industrial Safety and had many certifications and specialized training and was the Owner and Operator of P2 Safety. Vaughn found spiritual peace in his Pagan beliefs and considered the Earth his church. He was preceded in death by his father.
Vaughn is survived by his wife, Sandra Plummer; mother, Betty Lou Plummer; children, Chadwanna Kay Plummer, Melodie Jean Baggarly (Michael), William Ray Plummer, and James Benton Plummer; grandchildren, Mary Dulcina Yonts (Bryan), Ruby Nakay Fooks (Justin), Jesse Ray Baker, Kaia Brin Baggarly, Caedryn Locke Baggarly, Mary Dulcina Yonts; great-grandchildren, David Conner Yonts, Riley Carson Yonts, Addyson Lynn Yonts, and Drake Wesley Fooks; step-children, Brandon Stephon Peters (Tiffany), Dora Ruth James and Jeanna Ellen James; step-grandchild, Olivia Madison Peters; and mother-in-law, Wilma Paul.
Services will be Noon Monday, August 15, 2016 at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory where visitation will begin at 10:00 a.m.
