Troy Lee Evans, 62, of 3230 East 10th Street, Owensboro, went home to be with his Savior, Jesus, on April 29, 2006 at Owensboro Medical Health System. He was born in Morgantown to the late Marvie and Beulah Henderson Evans. Also preceding him in death are his siblings, Ada, Jean and Jarvis, and a grandson, Luke Evans. He was a long-haul truck driver for over 30 years, highly respected by all for his work ethic and the godly life he lived. Recently he worked part-time as a delivery driver for Danhauer Drugs. He enjoyed family get-togethers, watching Gaither Homecoming Videos and the Chicago Cubs baseball games. He was a gifted musician who loved praising his Lord Jesus as lead guitarist and vocalist with his band, the Heaven Seekers.
He will be greatly missed by his loving bride and soul-mate of 45 years, Karen Cox Evans; his son, Mike Evans and his wife, Lisa; three daughters, Kathy Hardesty and her husband, Willie, Kim Nicholson and her husband, Scott, and Sherry Hester and her husband, Roger, all of Owensboro. Ten grandchildren, Nick, Joshua and Zachary Evans, Elisha, Elexis, Elizabeth, Hannah and KathLynn Nicholson, Justin and Jacob Hester; and a great-grandson, Logan Evans; and his dog, Duchess. Above all, Troy is remembered as a friend of God who loved and served Jesus from a heart full of thanksgiving.
Services will be 2:00 PM Tuesday, at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 3:00 until 8:00 PM Monday and after 11:00 AM on Tuesday at the funeral home.
