Tosia Maria (McElwain) Barnett

Tosia Maria (McElwain) Barnett, 54, of Owensboro, passed away on February 28, 2026, at her home. She has made her journey home to be with Jesus and family. She was born on February 13, 1972, to the late Gary and Connie McElwain. Tosia enjoyed her flower gardens, bingo, watching her birds, thrift shopping with her grandchildren and spending time with her family.

In addition to her parents, Tosia is preceded in death by her father-in-law, Bobby Barnett; maternal grandparents, Frank and Betty Dowell; paternal grandparents, Henry and Margaret McElwain; sister, Meridith Maddox; adopted grandchild, Rontrez Mayes III; and adopted daughter, Kaylin Falloway.

Those left to cherish her memory include her loving husband of 30 years, Stephen Barnett; her children, Virginia Durbin, Garrett Durbin, Sabrina Durbin (Steven) and adopted daughter, Holly Brooks (Nykei); sisters, Francis Rice (Ronnie) and Shanan Owen (Charlie); grandchildren, Connor Leonard, Declan Durbin, Aden Weaver, Nate James, Lily Durbin, Brennan Brown, Tevin Miller, Ka’Mya Miller, Ka’Moriah Miller; adopted grandchildren, Kingston and Paris Strozier; as well as an aunt, many uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and many friends and family.

The funeral service for Tosia will be 4 PM Friday, March 6, at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory. Visitation will be from 12 PM until time of service at the funeral home.
