Tony Harold Roach, 87, of Owensboro, passed away with his wife at his side, Tuesday, September 30, 2025 at the Heartford House. He was born August 16, 1938 in Daviess County to the late Harold and Barbara Leibfried Roach. Tony was a member of Immaculate Catholic Church and a veteran of the U. S. Army Reserves where he served active duty at Fort Chaffee, Arkansas. He had worked at Krogers as head of the dairy department, then was the executive manager of Ponderosa Steakhouse, and then continued working at National Southwire Aluminum. Before retiring, he worked at several other grocery related businesses. Tony loved traveling especially family vacations with his children and grandchildren. He enjoyed exploring new places, one of his favorite trips was when he went to Italy, and visiting new restaurants. He took great pride in his garden and caring for his lawn, and fishing with his son Craig and grandsons.
Tony was also preceded in death by his son Craig on March 11, 2025; a sister, Janice Sue Gaddis; in-laws, Wallace F. Roberts, Jr. and Frances Roberts; brothers-in-law, Joseph A. Roberts, Sr. and Mark D. Roberts; and nephews Joe Roberts, Jr. and Billy Roberts.
Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Celia Roberts Roach; children, daughter Jennifer Bishop (Richie) of Paducah and son Keith Roach (Abbey) of Floyds Knobs, Indiana; daughter-in-law, Kristy Flaspoehler Roach of Owensboro; grandchildren, Benjamin, Jackson, and Caroline Roach of Floyds Knobs, step grandson, Brady Flaspoehler (Rachel) of Owensboro and step great grandchildren, Miller and Baker Flaspoehler of Owensboro; brothers and sisters-in-law, Julia Roberts Houston (Ricky) of Owensboro and Warren Roberts (Ellen) of Lees Summit, Missouri; nieces and nephews, Tim Gaddis, Cary Gaddis, Billy Joe Gaddis, Tammy Gaddis Bryant, Stephanie Priest, Mary Beth McCubbins, Amy Barnickel, Laurel Reynolds, Kara Moore, Renee Blair, Josh Roberts, Matthew Roberts, Megan Bare, and Madalyn Roberts; and numerous cousins.
The funeral Mass will be 10 AM Monday, October 6, at Immaculate Catholic Church. Burial will follow in Resurrection Cemetery with full military honors. Visitation will be from 2 PM until 6 PM Sunday with prayers at 6 PM at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and from 9 AM until the time of the service Monday at the church.
