Tommy Westerfield

Tommy Westerfield, 73, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, January 24, 2009 at his home. Born February 11, 1935 in Owensboro, he was the son of the late Walter and Ollie Lee Hults Westerfield; was retired from Big Rivers Electric; was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church and the Master's Men Sunday School Class and was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Westerfield enjoyed playing and coaching softball, watching UK basketball, and reading. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Wanda Murphy.

Survivors include his wife of 50 years, Shirley Quesnell Westerfield; a son, Thomas Clay (and Lori) Westerfield of Drexel, NC; daughters, Shawna Westerfield of Owensboro and Valorie (and Troy) Brewer of Louisville; 4 grandchildren, Haley, Zack, Emma and Meea; brothers, Robert (and Ann) Westerfield, Larry (and Sharon) Westerfield, and Freddy (and Phyllis) Westerfield all of Owensboro; and a sister, Judy (and Jerry) Chapman of Indiana.

Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday, January 27, 2009 at Glenn Funeral Home with Dr. James Dean officiating followed by entombment in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Monday and after 9 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
