Tommy D. "Bibby" Thompson, 71, of Owensboro passed away Saturday, December 10, 2016 in the care of Hospice of Western Kentucky. Mr. Thompson was born in Owensboro and retired from Whirlpool where he had last worked in the lab. An outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting, fishing, and motorcycles. Described as "the best man in the world" he was friend to everyone and a constant jokester. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Franklin and Margie Davis Thompson, and a brother, Don Thompson.
Surviving Mr. Thompson are his wife, Nancy Thompson; his children Donna Snyder (Roy), Kathryn Howard (Marvin), Robert McKnight, and Caitlyn Thompson; his stepchildren Catrina Piper (Darek) and Terri Pulliam (Todd); his brother Jimmy Thompson (Judy); his sisters-in-law Debbie Lewis (John) and Bobbie J. Smith; his grandchildren Christopher (Chelsey) Carpenter, Jacob Carpenter, Wm. Bryce Carpenter, Logan McKnight, Kendall McKnight, Michael Howard, Shannon Henderson, Ainsley Piper, Ashby Piper, Riley Pulliam, Hayden Pulliam, and Austin Smith; and 2 great-grandchildren.
Services are 10 a.m. Tuesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory, where visitation will be from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m. Monday and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.
