Tommy Jacob, 86, of 1604 East 19th Street, Owensboro, died Saturday, October 6, 2001 at Owensboro Mercy Health System. He was born October 2, 1915 in Marion County, Kentucky the son of the late J. Edward and Katie Parott Jacob. He was preceded in death by a son, Billie Thomas Jacob, in June 1991.
He retired from Sturgeon Pontiac and was a mechanic for Owensboro Board of Education. He was a member of Walnut Memorial Baptist Church and enjoyed playing dominos, dancing, hunting and fishing.
Survivors include his wife of eight years, Geneva Worth Jacob; a son, Earl Ray Jacob of Philpot; three daughters, Judy Tyler, Betty J. Day and Ruth Lowe, all of Owensboro; four stepsons, Howell Black, Terry Black and Phil Black, all of Owensboro, and Tim Black of Georgetown; two stepdaughters, Sheila Denney and Sandy Howard, both of Owensboro; 12 grandchildren; 12 step-grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; and six step-great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday October 9, 2001 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Odell Beauchamp. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. His family will receive friends at Glenn Funeral Home from 2:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday October 8, 2001 and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday.
