Tommy Brooks, 48, of Calhoun, went home to be with his parents, on Thursday, July 2, 2009, at the McLean County Fish and Game Campground. He was born May 30, 1961, to the late Thomas Earl and Helen Marie Sparks Brooks in Daviess County. He worked at Hausner Hard Chrome for 22 1/2 years, where he had made many friends that he considered to be his family. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping, NASCAR, dirt track racing, and helping others with their race cars. He was of the Baptist faith, and a previous member of the Moseleyville Fire Dept.
Survivors include his wife of 23 years, Melanie Brooks; his daughter, Lindsay Brooks at home, a step-son, Chris Lawson and his fianc', Sarah Wanner of Maceo; his brother, Cletus Brooks and his wife, Tammy of Owensboro, his sister, Donna Brooks Chapman and her husband, Doug of Owensboro; a nephew, Josh Brooks and a niece, Kathi Hall, both of Owensboro; several aunts, uncles and cousins.
Services will be 2:00 PM Monday, at Glenn Funeral Home with burial in Nickel Ridge Cemetery. Visitation will be 12:00 PM until 6:00 PM Sunday and after 10:00 AM on Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to a college fund for Lindsay.
