Tim Turner, 61, of Owensboro passed away Saturday May 5, 2018 at Owensboro Health Regional Hospital. Mr. Turner was born September 16, 1956 in Biloxi, Mississippi to the late Thomas Arthur Turner Jr. and Janet Faye Bryant Turner. Tim always spoke from his heart and not his mind, never really knew a stranger, and you genuinely knew that he cared about what you were saying. He enjoyed horses and a good cup of coffee, sometimes several cups a day. Tim could relate to anyone and when he set his mind on something he would not stop till he accomplished whatever it was. He retired from Texas Gas after 30 plus years, at which time he started Fetta Specialty Pizza, with a desire to make a difference in downtown Owensboro.
Tim was a God fearing Christian man who was a member of First Baptist Church. With no doubt he knew the meaning of love and how to always be a very selfless person, and he knew the real meaning of being a dad, so his children could always count on him to be there for them.
Tim is survived by his wife, Rebecca Turner; his daughter, Rebecca Porter and her husband, Sam; a son, Tim Turner Jr. and his wife, Taylor; grandchildren, Haley, Allison, Ava, Brayden Porter, and Emeline Turner; stepchildren, Kaley and Kevin Coffey; and his brother, Tom Turner III and his wife, Kathy.
A funeral service will be held at 1pm Wednesday, May 9 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Paul Strahan officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 till 7 pm at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and Wednesday from Noon till time of service at the church. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens.
