Mr. Thomas Hampton Roberts, 81, of 7350 Jack Hinton Rd, Philpot, KY, died Friday, April 28, 2001, at his residence. The Daviess County native was retired from Martin Marietta Aluminum, a member of Providence United Methodist Church, a member of the United Steel Workers local #7325, and an Army veteran of World War II serving in n. Africa and Italy where he received the Bronze Star. He enjoyed being with his family, going to his grandchildrens' sporting events and gardening.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dorothy Nell Marksberry Roberts; 2 sons, Thomas Scott Roberts of Owensboro and Danny Ray Roberts of Philpot; a daughter, Debbie Kay martin of Philpot; 8 grandchildren, 1 step-great grandchild; 4 brothers, Ira Lee Roberts and Bryce Roberts of Philpot, Edward Roberts, Jr. of Utica, and Earl Ray Roberts of Tell City; 2 sisters, Virgie Mae Bosley of Masonville and Dorothy Jean Barnett of Philpot.
Funeral services are 2 P.M., Tuesday, May 1, 2001 at the Providence United Methodist Church in Philpot with burial in the church cemetery. Friends may call at Glenn Funeral Home from 2-8 P.M., Monday, April 30, 2001 and after 9 A.M., Tuesday, May 1, 2001.
