Thomas R. Reynolds, Jr.

Thomas "Tom" Reynolds, 84, formerly of Avondale Rd., Owensboro, went home to be with Jesus on Sunday, January 4, 2009 at Bon Harbor Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on August 17, 1924, to Thomas Roger Reynolds, Sr. and Lucy Frances Phillips Reynolds in Beech Grove, Ky. He served in the Army Air Force from October 1945 until April 1947 where he was promoted to Corporal as a weather observer. He was a former owner of the Bambi Diaper Service and retired from Local #1080 as a millwright in 1986. He was an active member of several local churches during his lifetime, serving as a deacon, as well, and most recently enjoyed attending services at the nursing home. Tom was a devoted husband and father who lovingly helped raise and care for a special needs daughter her entire life. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He also enjoyed a good laugh, sharing a smile, gardening, and talking about the Lord.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of nearly 56 years, Sue McGee Reynolds on July 23, 2004, a daughter, Rebecca "Becky" Reynolds on June 19, 1999, a sister, Lois Stinnett, and twin brothers, Coy and Roy Reynolds.

Survivors include one daughter, Nancy Parker and her husband, Bobby of Owensboro, two grandchildren, Christi Hatfield and her husband Josh of Beaver Dam, and Aaron Parker and his wife Cherokee of Philpot, four great grandchildren, Ezekiel and Elijah Hatfield of Beaver Dam and Emmaline and Ephraim Thomas Parker of Philpot, two sisters, Tina Martin and Frances Epley, and two brothers, Kenneth "Kay" Reynolds and his wife Joline and Forrest "Tot" Reynolds and his wife Marcell, all of Owensboro, also several nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, and great great nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, January 6, at the Glenn Funeral Home Chapel with burial following in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be from 2:00-8:00 P.M. Monday and after 12 Noon Tuesday at the funeral home.
