Thomas R. Lockhart, 52, of Owensboro passed away Monday, April 4, 2011 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Owensboro on July 6, 1958, he was a graduate of Daviess County High School in 1976 and Western Kentucky University in 1979; was a 45 year member of First General Baptist Church having given his life to Christ at the age of 7; and was Vice President of Marketing for Smelter Service Corporation in Tennessee and had worked at Commonwealth Aluminum. Mr. Lockhart's first priority was his family and spending time with them. He also enjoyed spending time at his Indian Lake cabin in Hawesville; traveling, running (ran in the Disney Marathon in 1994), going to garage sales, hunting and fishing, and working in his yard. He was a member of the Gleaners Sunday School Class and had taught Sunday School and coached softball. He was preceded in death by grandparents, Bessie and Amil Lockhart and Martha and Bill Warren, and a cousin, Warren Covington.
Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Pam Troutman Lockhart; a daughter, Michelle Lockhart (and Joe Light) of Owensboro; his parents, Ralph and Judy Warren Lockhart of Owensboro; a brother, Tony (Sonya) Lockhart of Owensboro; nephews, Logan and Josh Lockhart of Owensboro; an aunt and uncle, Jeanne and Jim Haight of Owensboro; cousins, Barry Haight of Ashburn , VA and Holly and Kirk Covington and Adam, Nick and Anne Covington all of Atlanta, GA; his mother and father-in-law, Betty and Bob Troutman of Owensboro, and many friends and a caring church family.
Services are 1 pm. Thursday, April 7, 2011 at First General Baptist Church, 620 Maple Ave., Owensboro, KY 42301 with Revs. Dale Hartlein and Bob Kennedy officiating followed by burial in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Glenn Funeral Home and Crematory and after 10 a.m. on Thursday at the church.
