Thomas Lindsey

Thomas Wholesale Lindsey, Sr., 81, of 1709 East 17th Street, Owensboro, died Wednesday, February 26, 2003 at Leisure Years Nursing Home. He was born in Butler County, Kentucky on March 11, 1921 the son of William and Betty Blair Lindsey.

Mr. Lindsey retired after 50 years as Owner & Operator of Lindseys Used Cars. He was an Army veteran of World War II. He enjoyed his business, gardening and being with his grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Beulah Corley Lindsey on May 1, 2000; a son, Johnny Lindsey in August 1979 and a daughter, Sandra Monarch in December 1988.

Survivors include a son, Thomas H. Lindsey, Jr. of Owensboro; four daughters, Linda Dowdy of Allen, TX, Tami Harrison of Owensboro, Joyce Drake of Livermore and Sheila Calloway of Owensboro; 14 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Lawrence Lindsey of Pellville and a half-brother, Henry Lindsey of Beaver Dam.

Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2003 at Glenn Funeral Home Chapel, officiated by Reverend Michael L. Harrison. Burial will follow in Owensboro Memorial Gardens. His family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. Sunday, March 2, 2003 and after 9:00 a.m. Monday.
