Thomas Roy Hicks

Thomas "TR" Roy Hicks Jr. of Owensboro, died Sunday, July 7, 2013 at his home. TR was born October 9, 1921 in West Louisville to the late Thomas Roy and Addie Wellington Hicks. He graduated from West Louisville High School and went on to retire from both the Army and the Air Force serving during WWII, Korea and three tours in Vietnam. TR also retired as a truck driver for the State of Kentucky. He enjoyed dancing, football, UK basketball, playing cards and NASCAR. TR was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the VFW.

TR also was preceded in death by two sons, Frankie and David Frasure Sr; a daughter, Alisa Vollman; a grandson, Joseph Vollman; three brothers and six sisters.

He is survived by his wife, Vanetta James Hicks; a son, John Frasure; grandchildren, David (Katrina) Frasure Jr. Jenny Frasure all of Owensboro, Frankie Frasure, Dena Craig both of FL. Carrie Hurlburt of Nashville, TN; several nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held Thursday, July 11, 2013 at 2 PM at Glenn Funeral Home & Crematory with Father Tony Jones presiding. Interment will follow at Elmwood Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 PM Wednesday, July 10, 2013 and from 10 AM to 2 PM on the day of service at the funeral home.
