Thomas "Tom" Hardwick, 68, of Owensboro died on February 19, 2014 at his home. He was born in Daviess County to the late James L. Hardwick and Ava Hardwick Hudson.
Tom was a lifetime member of American Legion Post #9 and of the Baptist Faith.
He was a decorated Vietnam War veteran who returned home to a country that had a lot of mixed feelings about the Vietnam War. Tom returned home lost and had a hard time, but he knew in his heart that he had gone for the right reasons. Now he is at peace with his fellow comrades, his family, his country and himself.
He is survived by a sister, Pam Poole (Robert); an especially close aunt, Lela McKinley; and a nephew, Jeffrey Poole (Jennifer), all of Owensboro.
The funeral service will be held at 12 PM on Monday, February 24 at Glenn Funeral home and Crematory. Pastor Kenneth Stone will officiate. Burial will be at Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11 AM until noon on Monday at the funeral home.
